Cost & Quoting

How much does a transmission rebuild cost?
It depends on the transmission. A 4L60-E in a daily-driver Silverado is a very different job from an 8L90 in a built Corvette. Give us a call with your year, make, model, and what's going on with it, and we'll give you a real number — not a teaser quote.
Do you charge for diagnostics?
Initial phone discussion and inspection is free. If we need to put it on the lift and start pulling things apart, we'll quote the diagnostic time before we begin.
Do you offer financing?
Yes — we work with Snap Finance. Apply through the banners on our home page or ask us in the shop.

Turnaround Time

How long will my truck be down?
For common GM units in stock as remanufactured assemblies, often 1–2 days. Full custom rebuilds typically run 3–5 business days. We'll commit to a timeline before we start.
Do you do same-day work?
For tunes, fluid services, and some replacements with stock units — yes, we can often do same-day. Call ahead so we can plan the bay.

Rebuild vs. Replace

What's the difference between a rebuild and a replacement?
A rebuild is your transmission, taken apart, with worn or failed parts replaced and put back together. A replacement is removing your unit and installing a different transmission — typically a remanufactured one we already have on the shelf. Replacements are usually faster; rebuilds are sometimes cheaper depending on the failure mode.
Which one do I need?
Depends on what's wrong. We'll tell you straight. If the hard parts are fine and it's a clutch/seal job, a rebuild makes sense. If the case is cracked or the unit is grenaded, replacement.

Other Brands

Do you work on Fords, Dodges, or imports?
No — we specialize in GM transmissions only. We made the call to be excellent at one thing rather than mediocre at all of them. We can usually refer you to a shop that specializes in your brand.
What about CVTs?
No, we don't work on CVTs.

Shipping & Out-of-Area

I'm not local. Can you ship a transmission to me?
Yes, we can ship rebuilt and remanufactured units. Call us for details on crating, freight, and core charges.
Can I send you my transmission for a rebuild?
In many cases, yes. Talk to us first about prep, crating, and turnaround.

Warranty

What's your warranty?
Every rebuild and remanufactured unit comes with our standard warranty on parts and labor. Specifics depend on the transmission and use case — see the Warranty page for the full breakdown.
What voids the warranty?
Abuse, modifications after the build, external failures (like a bad cooler), and work done by another shop on the unit. Everything is spelled out clearly on your invoice.
